Template Design Web Video

Each of the members of the content team at Prendi was in charge of creating a video that effectively illustrates an element of what we do at Prendi. I was put in charge of creating this video. This particular web video is advertising our digital signage templates. I used a couple of different techniques in this video:

Most of the video uses simple 2D objects sliding in and out of frame (usually with a subtle 3D rotation). I also incorporated some 3D during the scene where the media devices pop up into frame. These were very simple 3D objects created in Maya then rendered and composited into After Effects.

I wanted to create something that fit with the Prendi style (flat, 2D aesthetic), but also had a bit of 3D texture. I also created some basic 3D objects within after effects (using 2D planes laid out in 3D space and attached to a 3D null as a controller). Additionally there are small particular emitters to create the subtle bursts of shapes as the objects animate on.
