Shag Rock - Cold Hands

This was a video I helped shoot and edited for the local Brisbane band “Shag Rock”. The director wanted something shot on iPhone, so we bought some tripod mounts for iPhone and set them up like we might a normal camera. We also brought DSLR cameras to get some back up footage.

I am happy with the final product, but the iPhone footage was a mixed bag. I think iPhone video works best in city environments, where a “grittier” digital video looks more appropriate. The bright highlights of sun bouncing off the sand and the complex foliage are a bit much for the iPhone’s image sensor. We ended up using a mixture of DSLR and iPhone footage, and I tried to edit it so they blend together organically.
